The Committee's role

The role of the Health, Safety and Environment Committee is to assist the Board to fulfil its overall responsibilities in relation to health, safety, environmental and community (HSEC) matters arising out of the activities of BlueScope Steel and as they affect employees, contractors and the communities in which it operates.

The Health, Safety and Environment Committee has the ability to obtain independent professional advice to assist it with its functions, with the cost to be paid for by the Company.

The Health, Safety and Environment Committee comprises all Directors of the Company, and meets at least three scheduled times a year.

The Chairman of the Committee is selected by the members of the Committee.
